Goodmorning!
First I want to thank the soldiers who continually send me e-mails. Being Canadian I never
really embraced the concept of war so moving to the States has been a learning experience. I
think what each of you are doing is admirable. You are all heroes!
I have agreed to shoot for American Curves (I am sure the Soldiers will like that as I know that
they receive shipments of the magazine overseas)and Status Fitness Magazine in September.
I am very excited to return to Canada!!! It has been over three years since I have been
home...this trip will be amazing. I have friends visiting from Australia to cheer me on while
competing in the WBFF show. Not only am I going to enjoy this trip I plan on visiting Vancouver
and seeing family. I hope to surprise my parents. They don't visit this site so hopefully
everything will work out that I can show up on their door step to give them a hug.
I have recovered from my surgery...10 days of bed rest is really the worst of it. I have never had
surgery before so everything was a first for me. Now I remember why I am not a fan of
hospitals.
Other than that, things are great. I am leaving for California in a few days with a good friend of
mine. This is my first time going there for a vacation. I have been so many times but always for
work/show. I intend on lots of laughs and some serious time by the ocean.
This update is a bit bare but I will say that great things are happening. I am allowing life to work
it's magic...it can be hard to listen sometimes with all the static that surrounds us in our daily
life. My father and mother tell me to be still...listen to your soul. It is so easy to get caught up in
the "static". If our thoughts create us...then it is so important to filter those thoughts. This is
something I am working on and will probably be working on for a very long time. I have
witnessed the power of something that sounds so simple.
I feel blessed to have my family. As I grow spiritually I realize how important family is. It isn't
the size of a family but the love that is always there. My mom and dad are a huge influence in
my life and in such a crazy world we are living in, it feels comforting to know that I am never
alone. I may be 3000 miles away but they are always in my heart. I look forward to living closer
to them one day. Being away has taught me more than I bargained for.
As always, thank you for your support. :)
MAY 25, 2008
Ok so, my birthday is around the corner and I just simply can't help feeling like this is the year of
change! 36...yes I've been totally BSing everyone that I was 28 for like...ever :), but the truth is out
and it is time I just suck up my pride and coast. I feel blessed that I got away with it for so
long...LOL...but I think its my moms good looks mixed with my fathers Italian genes...not to mention
time in the gym, water and laughter....
As for shows etc. I had to take some much needed time off. I am about to have surgery and I am
sure that I will have to take a few weeks off to rest. I have realized that I take on way too many
projects at one time. I am happy to say that I feel like everything in my life is going in the right
direction. It was hard for me to accept that I needed to focus on my business and my personal life
before being able to focus enough to train for a show. That said the only FAP show I am going to
do this year will be the one in November.
The WBFF contacted me about competing in September in the Fitness Modeling/Bikini Division ...I
felt a need to represent my Country and compete in Canada. I'm looking forward to that trip...just
what I needed. So, cool...I may be 36 but I'm still going to kick some 20+something females ass
(did I just say that?) I also confirmed the Mr. Olympia in Sin City ...I will be MC'ing the Power Lifting
@ MHP. I can hardly wait to lose my voice by the second day! I also agreed to do the Fitness
America November 08. As much as I love modeling, I love working out I am going to retire for a
while and focus on things closer to my heart. I will always continue to embrace physical fitness as
a quick pick me up and a daily high. It can only bring good things. I am amazed how many
e-mails I have been getting about my birthday...Im so touched that people actually know who I am .
But at the end of the day, I am a salon owner/rockstar hairdresser/broadcaster/loves to roll around
half naked in outfits in front of the camera (take that anyway you want...wawa)...I am just me. I
spend my days with 2 cells phones, clients, either driving my Porsche with a baseball hat or on my
Harley. I'm really not all that glamorous (although I love dressing up) and I just can't be so self
absorbed at my old age...haha. I will always be sarcastic...I will always enjoy laughing and
learning about my beautiful soul.

Bonjour, Aloha, Caio, HI!
SO, here I am. Not bad huh?! Things have been crazy. I just moved to a "carriage house", it is
slowly becoming my cozy loft. I feel blessed to have found this house and I look forward to the year
ahead.
School...is good! I'm embracing it rather than being stubborn. What else can I say...spring is here!
I fired up my Harley a few days ago...time to get it ready for riding season. I had a huge smile on
my face when it started. OHHHHHHHHHHHH I can't wait to spend quality time riding and hanging
out with friends. Not to mention bike week(s), charity events etc. It is the time of year, that I start to
get excited about being out in the sun. I may attempt a garden, but don't hold your breath! HAHA.
I'm not sure about my green thumb on the east coast.
My fathers book is out "My Self My Soul". I am so proud of him! He had a near death experience in
which he had a massive heart attack, flat lined and came back to life. He also was just hired to
write for Forbes magazine. YOU GO DAD! :) You are invited to check his book out
@ www.myselfmysoul.com.
Studio She (my salon), is doing amazing. We are busy and growing. I have learned a great deal
since signing the papers for this location. It has been a great lesson and I will continue to
embrace whatever challenges come my way.
Training season is here and thankfully it seems easier this time than before. I'm guessing it is
simply because I have been here before and I understand what it is going to take to make the top
10 at the upcoming Fitness America/Universe shows. I will be competing at the Pittsburg and
Miami show.
As for shoots and broadcasting. I am working on something right now so I have to keep it on the
DL. But what I can say is that it is in the field of radio/tv and could be huge. I am booked for shoots
until late August and I am looking forward to those "working vacations".
SO, I'm off to walk my dog and eat some chicken. Life is good (wink wink)

Here is my first attempt to journal...I think i need a clone! HA. Who has time for all this? :)
I just returned from NYC. I love the city and the energy. I had a great time and gave in to the
Margarita Gods. OH MY COACH IS GOING TO KILL ME. Sometimes "when in Rome"...
I have just confirmed I will be working at the MHP booth @ the Arnolds Classics. 3 Days of "Hi!"
and "ouch my feet hurt in these heels". I love working with everyone at MHP...lots of laughs.
As for my personal life. I have come to terms with the concept of change=pain. Or as the old saying
goes "no pain, no gain". I am working hard at taking control of things that need to change, so my
life can be more positive.
As for the new salon...so happy to say..."we are open". Lots of hard work, hours and my fabulous
decorating skills (shameless plug) were put to good use. Oddly enough I can't wait to do it all over
again. The next salon I build will not be on the east coast. It won't be happening anytime soon but
it is fun to imagine where it will be. I love the creative side to my personality.
Next shoot: I will be in LA in a few weeks. Shooting with Michael Vincent. He is an amazing
photographer for Stuff/FHM etc. Our hopes are to shoot images that are less "fitness" and more
edgy orientated. I am also shooting with Visual Cocktail mid February.
I return to school....gawd save me...next month. 3 months of trying to juggle school, clients, new
salon, training for the Fitness Atlantic and making time for my animals. SLEEP? Um, yeah, I will
try and work on that one. I am excited to train for the next competition. I placed 4th last year and I
would like to take first place in the tall division.
DXL Magazine is featuring MOI in the "rising star" section. It will be out next month. I am very proud
of the interview and the fact that they selected me. David Beckham is on the cover, it just gets
better doesn't it?!
So now you are updated. That wasn't as hard as I thought :). If you plan on being at the Arnolds
this year, bring your magazines and I will sign them. I will have a few boxes of magazines at the
Arnolds.
If you have any questions you can contact me on this site.
Carpe Diem
Sophia P (P. as in Miss Positive wink wink)
